Public Hearing Comprehensive Plan and Planned Unit Development Code Amendments

The first public hearing is to receive public comments regarding the 2020 Annual Update of the Comprehensive Plan.
The second public hearing is to receive comments regarding the Langley Municipal Code (LMC) Amendments for Planned Unit Developments, Chapter 18.26 and related ordinances.

The purpose of these Comprehensive Plan amendments is to add a goal regarding dismantling systemic racism; add references and policies regarding form-based codes as an innovative planning tool that will enable this type of zoning code; add policies to support amendments to the LMC Chapter 18.26 for Planned Unit Development; add a reference that the goals and policies in the Shoreline Master Program form part of the Comprehensive Plan; add a Planned Unit Development overlay in Map LU-5 in support of amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 18.26; and add a new map UCP-7 that identifies the Retail Water Service Area for the City’s water system.
The purpose of the Langley Municipal Code amendments is to amend LMC section 18.01.040 to include additional definitions; amend LMC section 18.09.010 relating to allowed land uses; repealing and replacing LMC chapter 18.26 Planned Unit Development.
All interested persons may provide verbal and written testimony during the hearing. Submit written comments to City Hall prior to 4:00 pm on March 3, 2021. At the conclusion of the public hearing the Planning Advisory Board will consider the matter and issue a recommendation to the City Council for approval, approval with conditions, or denial of the draft ordinance.
